Recent Happenings of a bogger
Wednesday, March 1st, 2006Thought id blog a little differently this time around. This is whats been happening with me:
- Major fuckup at work - Visual Source Safe is Evil and the result was we couldn’t release for a whole day. Laying low today. I totally relate to this strip.
- XmlReader base64 deserialization issue for .NET 2.0 in my product is still at large. *cries*
- 19th Birthday on Friday - I lose my hairless 18 year old gay boy status. This won’t stop strange friends from commenting that my “feet are hot” or stop older men trying to grab my ass when im trying to have a drink.
- Mardi Gras - YAY! Best time of the year. Will be doing the all day thing on Oxford St then avoiding the parade as the real fun is the following day - the parade is mostly a show for the straight community.
- Various trashy afterparties - Not sure whats going on here but I’m sure a few invites will pop up (Thats why I can never have “a quiet one”).
- wx.NET - Became maintainer for wxWidgets .NET/Mono bindings last week (YAY!). Just talking with people about what to do with the 0.8.x release series. Planning on helping out with the wxc project so its easier for us to bind to the toolkit and make our code more maintainable (its a bit of a mess at the moment). If your interested, have a poke at this months mail archives.
- Addicted to Gameboy - Totally reliving my early childhood through the Pokemon games. They are evil and addictive. Thats why I like it. Thats why its Nintendo’s best selling franchise.
- SLUG Nomination - I accept. Please give me a chance - i can be quite serious when it comes down to it.
- Wordpress 2.0 and new Theme - Fitting that i would upgrade (how painless!) and actually hackup somewhat of an original theme (anyone say gay pride?)
Last but not least I want to give my best wishes to Leon, his family and friends. Leon responded to alot of my ramblings on this blog, is one of the most valuable members to the Australian Free Software movement and has always been a man of great integrity. Please get well soon Leon - we don’t want to loose you.
