My Sleezy DJ’ed Club

Wednesday, August 31st, 2005

Oh I met this sleezy DJ - he ruined my Stonewall. I mean, it used to be such a classy joint. I mean, now we have lighting and great nights out. I used to go to stonewall because it was stonewall, but now it is competing with ARQ ans the Midnight Shift, I cannot cope!

Oh my stars!!

Gah, Media.

The article titled What lies behind the Google chatter? by Benjamin Cohen was freaking crack pipe enduced P.O.S.

Heres a few quotes that led me to the conculusion:

Google claims that this may be their unique selling point, as they are going to make their Google Talk product opensource, which means that other providers can utilise their software and network to allow their users to be able to keep in touch with more of their friends.

and he puts on his tin foil hat and says this:

However, it is likely to come at some cost to the consumer: their privacy. I can foresee Google using voice recognition technology to analyse their users’ conversations and provide sponsored links that are relevant to the words and phrases just spoken. Thus Google Talk may be just another step towards world domination by Google.

I suspect the self proclaimed “former teenaged dot.com millionaire” didn’t make as much cash or was as clever as the google guys - the article sinks of envy.

10 Years: Windows 95

Thursday, August 25th, 2005

Beta News has a great article about the launch of Windows 95 almost exactly 10 Years ago. Its kind of ironic that a company that had such a good public opinion at the time is now, well, not so well thought of.

Grrah!

That startup sound still gives me the shivers.

Oh Yeah.

Google Talk - No XMPP Server to Server Functionality

Wednesday, August 24th, 2005

I was poking around on the Google Talk website and found this Help Center item.

How do I use Google Talk to communicate with non-Gmail users?

It isn’t possible to call or chat with non-Gmail users through Google Talk (but we’re working on it). You can email any of your contacts by clicking the envelope next to their names in your Friends list, but if you want to talk to your friends live, they need to be Gmail (and Google Talk) users too.

You can invite your friends who aren’t Gmail users to download Google Talk. They’ll be sent an invitation to create a Gmail account at the same time. Just sign in to Google Talk, and click ‘invite’ next to your friend’s name or click ‘Add friend’ at the bottom of your Friends list. Then follow the prompts to email an invitation to his or her email address.

Well thats just tit useless when your going to use XMPP, isn’t it?

Oh google, you snide pack of whores.

Licensing

If you intend to have your port merged into the main Mono distribution, keep in mind that you must grant Novell permission to redistribute your work under other licenses other than the LGPL. This means that you must be the owner of any code contributed to Novell and that you are in a position to sign such an agreement.

Anyone care to explain how they can do this?

Something in my hair…
