Windows Vista looked great on paper, about a year ago. I guess it has a nice theme and if we look at Apples sucess with OS X, every idiot likes something shiney.

iXP is nothing new. I was coding drunk 25 years ago!
This is true - people have been coding drunk since the first programmer spilled a martini all over ENIAC and had to spend 9 months fixing broken tubes. But the uniqueness in iXP is not any one technique but how they are used in combination.

The Zen of iXP

Getting it off… with GTK#

Sunday, July 24th, 2005

So this weekend being my moving weekend and stuff, was totally awesome. I got to move, talk to some cool guys at Debsig (and talk about multimedia stuff, which im still having thoughts about), scored a little job waiting tables (hey, every penny buys booze and floozies) and got my rocks off with GTK#.

GTK# is like way cool. You make good, simple applications in GTK# in a snap once you know how.

A few things I wrote - “Image Viewer” (guess what it does), Reflect (Yeah, it prints out assembly info) and “Gnome Mono Dock” (Like OSX’s dock, but im adding some cooler metaphore shit).

And once I figure out how todo some more stuff with GTK#, I think I might add to the Howto. Maybe.

By the way Ycros, spoon.

Make some noise about Opening OS2

Wednesday, July 20th, 2005

Help make some noise about Opening OS2. There are alot of Businesses out there that would like to see some extended support on OS 2 (not to mention it would be interesting to have a peek) and software developers who feel the same.

More on the Geckonet “net-out”

Wednesday, July 20th, 2005

Here is a little more on the Geckonet collapse.

Jason Stead from Geckonet said that iBurst connections are no longer active because he couldn’t pay the connection fees and that clients were not coughing up the monthly service fee.

One user called “Paul” commented on something that is actually very true:

Have Debts + Cannot repay these debts = Trading insolvent. It’s a big no no. There is prison time for this.

Apparently Jason has also been involved in a few failed “ISPs”. I’ve lost two weeks productive work while the connection has not been working and I have already paid for my monthly access. I hope he goes down for this.

So thats why my iBurst isnt working
