Rockon.
Last wednsday I left work a little early to get some retail therapy (Im a simple, expensive and really gay creature) to get my spirits up (one of my fav shirts got distroyed, thanks to the boyfriend) and I needed something to read/todo on the bus (besides BlogCasts). So I rocked up to Angus and Robinson in Pt Street mall to go buy a pretty new tech related book, when I stumbled across Mono: A Developers Notebook. It totally rocks! It covers the installation of the Mono 1.0 series, GTK# 1.0, introduction to the framework and some C# language features. I basically knew pretty much what was in the book (except for the GTK#, mind).
But I have to support people like Edd at Mono who have done some awesome work it getting things to happen and buying the book was my way of doing this. Also, thanks to Thom at Ubuntu, I have mono running on my Ubuntu Hoary/PPC macmini.
So what else is up? Well, I have a new boyfriend, Daniel, who is a Medic in the Aust. Navy. We have been together for about a month and we have just been going out clubbing and enjoying eachothers company.
Work: Increased responsibility. I was moved into a new “Team” called “Upgrade Assurance”, which is basically doing all the customised bits on our software for clients. Its a pretty important part of our software as it is mostly b2b data interfaces. I used to be that guy who always needed his hand held in development but now I hold peoples hands. Its great, although I get interupted all the damn time.
Im totally enjoying my new wordpress blog - its going to make me blog more often now as I don’t have to “blog around” the bugs I have not fixed in KBlog. The Guys At Kruel are changing heaps of things to focus on the new goals: Open Source Game Development. Check out what they are doing, they need your love and support.
